Geography your students will actually practice.

Pick what your class is learning, from continents and oceans to world capitals and state capitals. Students join with a class code and a first name, play a few minutes a day, and you see who has mastered what.

Got a class code?

Your teacher gave you a 6-character code. Enter it to open your class in the game.

For every geography class

The same game works from a first map lesson to a university course. You pick the topics; Waypoint does the practice and the tracking.

Elementary & middle school

Continents, oceans, the 50 states and their capitals, with Kids mode for the youngest.

High school

Countries by region, world capitals and big cities for world history, AP Human Geography and social studies.

Colleges & universities

Map fluency for geography, international relations, business and supply chain courses.

Maritime academies

World ports, trade lanes and airport codes, alongside the countries and seas they connect.

How it works

  1. Pick your topicsChoose from 84 topics: the 7 continents, the 5 oceans, countries by region, world and state capitals, territories, provinces and ports.
  2. Share one codeStudents open waypointmapgame.com/team/your-code on a Chromebook, phone or tablet and type a first name. No accounts, no emails.
  3. See who has it downYour teacher page shows each student's stars on every topic and who has passed the final test.

What your class gets

  • Your topics as a chapterOne level per topic, each played to three stars, then a final test to graduate.
  • Both ways roundName the place that lights up, find it on the map, and for cities: what's the capital of…?
  • A class boardFirst names or nicknames and stars, seen only by your class.
  • Whole-class games on the boardParty mode puts the map on your classroom screen while students answer on their own devices.
  • Every deviceWeb, Chromebooks, iPhone and Android, with the same code.
  • No adsNo ads in the game, and nothing for students to buy to play their class topics.

Student privacy

Students never create an account or give an email address. They type a first name or nickname when they join, which only their class and teacher see. For the class we keep that name, their stars on the class topics and when they last played; like every player, their game progress is saved under an anonymous ID on their device, not under their name. You can take a student off the class board at any time. We don't sell data or show ads. Read the privacy policy.

Set up a free class

Free for teachers through the end of this school year while we pilot Waypoint in classrooms. No card needed.

Topics

Pick up to 24. Each topic is one level for your students; a final test covers them all.

By creating a class you agree to the terms of use. We keep the class name, school, your email and the topics you pick. See the privacy policy.
